Dear Raff,
I took for granted just how powerful my love for you would become. I underestimated the influence you would have on my hopes, my dreams, my wishes. I am so lucky to be the one who gets to hold you close when you need comfort, wake you from your sleepy state, feed you when you’re hungry, dance with you when you have your frisky half hour bursts of energy. You make me smile little one. More than that, you make me giggle.
I treasure these days as now, I know just how quickly things change, how fast you grow, how precious time is. It feels like only yesterday I looked at you for the first time, I often wonder whether I took you all in, because, in the blink of an eye, you grew into an independent, head strong, little boy.
There’ll come a time I’ll just be the lady who does your laundry, asks how your day was and tells you to be nice to girls. But for now I get to be your mama and, as long as you’ll let me, I will mama you, I will soak up every one of the delicious cuddles you shower upon me. They are the best part of my day!
Love,
Mama xx
PS: when you sit on your piggy toes it makes me go giddy! :-)
